Shasta Daisies Painting, and still waiting for Spring

Original oil painting: Shasta Daisies
This is my new website featured painting, you can click on this link for details of Shasta Daisies

A daisy painting, yes, I'm impatiently waiting for those spring blooms to come.

This week I'm teaching a painting workshop. I'll teach at the Fort Clark Art Studio. It's a wonderful place with a great group of people. I'll be demonstrating in oil, and most of the class will be painting in oils also. It should be a great time. Painting is hard work, but it is fun and so rewarding. The workshop is Friday February 22, and Saturday, February 23rd. I really enjoy teaching, and with this group it is always a good experience.

Alert: The spikes that will be the Mountain Laurel blooms are filling the trees! This gray spikes will be covered with beautiful purple flowers soon. When I was photographing these, I saw a lady bug on one of the spikes. We have tons of lady bugs around again this year.

Until next time!

Graceful and beautiful painting. No Spring in Singapore, but I feel the mood.

I know...hurry spring, hurry! Daisy is my favorite flower family! I love the color, and texture of this work, it has that "light" that is hard to bring to life. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely painting, Jean - enjoy teaching your workshop too.

I'm looking forward to spring as well, when I spoke to my inlaws who live in Texas they were taunting me with their tales of 75 degree weather.

I must confess that I usually do not go out of my way to look at floral paintings...but I love this painting.. the colors and the texture are engaging. It is one I would gladly hang on my walls.

Janis, I'm glad you like the daisy painting. Teaching is always fun, we'll have a great time.

Lily, I am so glad you visited from Singapore! Thank you so much for your comment.

hmbt - yes, I am always in a hurry for spring! I so appreciate your compliment on my painting.

Cynthia, - it's a gorgeous day today, mid 60's beautiful sky! Now, when it's 105 degrees this summer, I will try very hard to not complain, and stay indoors!

Bill, Wow! I'm flattered that I had you stop and take a look! Yes, I know that florals are not everyone's cup of tea. I do prefer to paint them with an abstract background, rather than a still life.
